We have been making custom 4' x 8' O gauge layouts for small areas. These layouts are fun packed with action and are made to be completed by the customer by adding trees buildings and other accessories.

Nothing makes families return again and again to a restaurant like trains. We have been operating trains in restaurants for over ten years and are experts on constructing layouts that can operate automatically, every day, for long periods of time. Most G scale trains on the market today are toys and are not built for extended use, our modifications have enables us to operate these toys with a high level of reliability with established periodic maintenance.
One of our projects came about due to damage done by hurricane Irene. The Saloon in Pearl River, NY has been running trains since the 80's and DG Design has been maintaining the trains since 2004. The damage caused by Irene forced the owners to gut the entire restaurant, that included all the old track. We were then contracted to design and construct a new layout. The Pearl River Saloon, restaurant and bar.
We were contracted in 2005 to rehabilitate the track and trains and restore operations. After hurricane Irene in 2011 the interior of the building was gutted and rebuilt. We designed and installed new track, bridges and continued to maintain operations. To view a video about the rebuilding Click Here.
We have been hired to supply a 7.5" gauge train decorated as The Texas Special with Christmas lights, Christmas trees and elves as part as an annual Christmas lights display. The train is running on the roof of a building with extensions made from Plexiglass enabling a view from below.
We have been maintaining the trains at the Saloon since2005. You can view the old train layout on the next video. After hurricane Irene the entire restaurant and bars were gutted, so we had to design a brand new layout to conform to the new design and look of the place.
The old train layout at The Saloon was constructed in the eighties. It had many switches and very tight curves. When we took over we needed to modify the track and trains to allow for 9 hour continues operation every day with only one maintenance session per week.
This special layout was constructed to allow a customer the fun of completing the scenery by adding structures, accessories and landscaping without having to work on track and wiring. The layout has the maximum amount of O gauge action possible on a 4' x 8' size. You can have two trains on the layout using the siding and trains can be reversed with a return loop.
Built on a custom table with wheels. Two train operation with black control. Ordered to operate a collection of post war trains. The layout was delivered without structures. Customer will add structures, roads, vehicles etc.
In November 2015 we sent Shelli Sonstein, the co host of the Jim Kerr show, a picture of the Q104.3 window we placed in a building on the New Rochelle layout. Shelli came up with an idea to make something of the sort for Jim's birthday. So we collected information about Jim and incorporated it all into a personalized diorama. This is a video of Jim receiving his gift, live on the air, on his birthday.
